From the very beginning of Campaign 4, fresh DM Brennan Lee Mulligan has kept fans guessing with extensive world-building, a colorful mix of characters, and a thrilling plot featuring divine entities, evil spirits, and malevolent powers expanding in influence within the urban setting.
Heads-up: Revealing details for the latest installment of the new season lie ahead.
The Combat-Oriented Party Revealed
The third episode ended with a huge suspense moment and revealed the initial group of heroes who will split off from the primary party to embark on their independent quest, separate from the remaining groups.
The combat-focused team consists of the determined fighter (played by the voice actor), Thimble (Laura), Tyranny (Whitney Moore), Wicander (Sam), and the mysterious adventurer (Robbie).
Why Split the Party?
Given an extensive roster, it was obvious from the beginning that keeping everyone at one table would be impossible.
This explains, the initial installments of this story serve as an Overture, connecting the characters’ stories before branching into three separate parties: Fighters, Strategists, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
As described by the DM, the warrior group is for participants who are drawn to a classically intense battle-oriented narrative style where peaceful solutions are rare.
Initially, figures such as the squeamish cleric the cleric might seem out of place, but the developments of the third episode make it clear why these specific adventurers are best suited for the Soldiers table.
Motivations for Departure
For one thing, the party has a clear idea where to head next after a brutal initial meeting with the antagonists.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose death kicked off the narrative’s action—manipulated the enemy for his selfish purposes, invading Thjazi’s hideout, striking the character, and swiping all the powerful objects to auction.
The antagonist then cleared his obligations and fled to a secure base in the remote area, north of the city, with Teor’s brother pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Additionally, each adventurer has a personal reason to depart the metropolitan area:
- The agile hero, as Thjazi’s partner and best friend, wants vengeance.
- Kattigan knows Timmony and advises that it is a nasty environment.
- The strong character and The cleric, having resisted his house’s orders to execute Teor and instead saved him, have no safe haven.
- However, their reputation as key figures in the influential clan could enable the party access locations they usually can’t.
- Furthermore, The grateful character swore a life debt to Wicander for his rescue and will now follow him anywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the city for a variety of reasons, making lingering locally too risky:
- The agile adventurer and The hero are known criminals.
- Tyranny and The healer betrayed House Halovar and the army of fiends they are allied with.
- The target is targeted for elimination by the clan.
This results in them little choice but to head to the northern region in pursuit of Casimir.
What’s Next?
From the recent installment’s post-show segment, we find out that the warrior group won’t be around in the upcoming installment, leaving the remaining eight players to round up the Explorers and Schemers groups.
Fans can anticipate discovering which adventurers will be assigned to which table in Campaign 4’s final introductory chapter, streaming live on October 24.
